Latest Football Transfer Rumours | March 19

Latest Transfer Rumour - Bayern Munich are interested to re-sign Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack.

Ballack who is now at 32 has a contract which expires this summer.

However, he has a one-year contract extension option. In order to do that, he has to take a pay cut and renegotiate his contract based around incentives for games played and on-field success.

Bayern boss Jurgen Klinsman is really interested to sign him.

Personal opinion: Well, at the moment, Ballack is very committed to rejuvenate Chelsea and to play a big part in it. He has performed well under the new Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink so far. I think he would rather stay than leave.

I am not sure the 'pay-cut' will effect his decision or not. We'll see about it at the end of the season.

Latest Transfer Rumour - Franck Ribery is frustrated with rumours linking him with other big Europe clubs. Ribery has performed well in Bundesliga and Champions League and attracted interests from Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid. However, he insisted that he is happy in Germany and has made it clear that he is committed to finish his contract with Bayern Munich.

In an interview with L'Equipe, Ribery said, "Everyone keeps asking me about my future, they only want to talk about when I will leave."

"But it is useless because I don't want to talk about it anymore. I am fed up."

"Staying or leaving? I don't reply to that question anymore. I am enjoying life at Bayern and I feel fine here," Ribery added.

Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness is also fed up with the speculations and insisted that Ribery is happy at Bayern.

"I don't think he wants to leave. He has much to look forward to here," he said.

"I know some people would like to take him for a lot of money. We are aware that we could be in for a battle. I am convinced two or three clubs will bid in the summer."

"But we will do our best to keep him because he is a great player and an amazing man. He has been our best buy in the last 20 years."

Latest Transfer Rumour - Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is keen to sign Gareth Barry from Aston Villa this summer. He has already hand in the request to sign the England midfielder to his bosses. Manchester City chief is going to offer Aston Villa £6million including striker Dean Sturridge and midfielder Micahel Johnson.

Personal opinion: It's good to see City targeting a good English player. I think if Barry signs with City, he will be in the same situation again - helping a team to be one of the big guns in the Premier League (just like playing for Aston Villa). I think it is time for him to play for the big four like Liverpool and concentrating on winning trophies. He deserves it. I think Liverpool is still his first target.

I don't think Aston Villa will accept the offer. I think they want money rather than players cramping up their team. They were asking 18million for the midfielder last summer and are going to do the same this time around.

Latest Transfer Rumour - Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill believes Gareth Barry is still keen to sign with Liverpool despite Robbie Keane failure to make a good impression with Liverpool this season. Liverpool were very interested to sign Barry last summer and the player responded positively to the offer. However the club rejected all four bids from Liverpool. Villa said that Liverpool failed to meet their asking price at £18million.

Personal Opinion: Barry is a good player. He can control the midfield well and can make forward runs too. He is now one of the key player in England national team. He looked desperate to join Liverpool last summer and very frustrated when his club stopped him from joining Liverpool.

I think, every player dreams to play for big guns and win trophies. Aston Villa was impressive this season. However, still not good enough to win trophies. I think Barry will leave Aston Villa even if they qualify for the Champions League next season.

Latest Transfer Rumour - Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink said it will take more than a mega-million offer to lure John Terry away from Stamford Bridge. He admitted he was shocked by Manchester City's mega-offer to sign Terry. Hiddink believes that some thing money can't buy and Terry is one of them. Hiddink urged City to forget about it and try to look for another player because Terry is a Chelsea player for life.

Hiddink said, "John made a very clear statement that he is a Chelsea man and wants to stay a Chelsea man. I’m not the money man, but the club made it very clear that they want to continue forever with John."

Hiddink said that it is up to Chelsea board to sort out this issue but he still believes that John Terry will stay until the end of his career. "There’s more than money in this. There’s also the culture of the club," he added.

Personal opinion: I'm totally agreed with Hiddink. Terry won't leave Chelsea and will stay there for life. Maybe when Chelsea looked messed up under Scolari few weeks ago, City can try to sign him. But I don't see it coming this time as Chelsea looked strong enough and more convincing towards winning titles (Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League). Terry is a Chelsea man for life.
