Latest Transfer Rumour - Liverpool manager urged the club to sort a new deal out for him before it is too late. His contract with the Premier League side will end in summer of 2010. He insisted that they need to offer a new contract to him as soon as possible to sort out the team's long-term plan.
In an interview with The Guardian Benitez said, "Anyone that has just a year left on his contract does not have anything at all and I have only got a year and a half left. When people, either within the club or from outside it, realise that the manager only has that much time left then he is dead."
Benitez said his assistants' contracts will finish this June but still the club do not ofer them a new contract. He admitted that it is difficult for him to do the job properly if his assistants' job are not secured.
Beniztez also said that he has never asked for a complete control at the club. He only asked to have the power that ables him to make his own decision and manage the team as he thinks appropriate.
Benitez admitted that he would love to manage Real Madrid one day. However for now, he is not thinking about leaving and hope can stay in Liverpool for a long time.
